how sad

I just encountered something really sad on my drive home tonight.  I was behind a van on Marshall Road, and it swerved suddenly to avoid soemthing on the road.  I had to as well, apparnetly he had hit a big fat raccoon in the street, and it was very dead.  And I saw a second raccoon, running back and forth between the sidewalk and its dead companion, all confused and unsure of what had happened.

It just made me sad for some reason, that the living raccoon didn't know what was going on, and why the other one was dead.  I was stopped at a light for a second and watched him as he went back and forth, running to the sidewalk when another vehicle would go by, then returning to rub its nose against the dead one.

Is it weird that this made me sad?  I wonder...

surreal life

I had a curious bit of a drive the other day, late at night. Leaving along Clearbrook Road, the power was completely out for eight or nine blocks. All the traffic lights, houses, street lamps, they were all dead. It was pitch black, except for my headlights, and being so late, no one else was on the road for the most part.

I drove past an intersection, and saw red and blue lights flashing. Two cop cars, stopped around a truck, with the officers aiming their guns at the driver. No clue what was going on with that, but I continued along. Next intersection I look left, and down that street two more cop cars, this time helping someone who had wrapped themselves around a light post.

Going past all this was very surreal, like I felt so far removed from it all. The darkness, coupled with lack of sleep and a feeling of almost solitude, it all ran together. And I just smiled as I went past, observing these things. I also saw a drug deal taking place, again in the almost pitch black. I saw two kids running, as if they had stolen something or perhaps broken something.

Finally I got to the main street of South Fraser Way, where things were back to normal. And I realized what a weird world we live in sometimes. It was strange, to be sure, and I'm glad to have been a part of it.

fuckin elebits!

Elebits is a game I rented like a week ago for the Wii, and it's one of those crazee japanese games that's all frantic and full of color and little kritters. It's maddeningly addictive, and has occupied quite a lot of my time. It's good! Crazee fuckin japs came up with some amusing shit here. I may be tempted to buy it. Then again I was tempted to buy another Wii system tonight, just so I could get the controller that came with it. Then throw the system itself out or something. I refrained, sadly.

Baseball season is starting again soon, so I'm quite excited for that. The only negative thing is that I'll have to switch back to mornings at work, to accomodate the evening games. Switching from graveyard to morning would be the worst, I should imagine. But it'll be all good. I rather enjoy baseball, this will be the fourth season I've done up. So yay!

Unfortunately not much else is going on right now. I still haven't captured the New Year's footage yet, it's kind of scary to think aboot it all. But I'll get on it soon, my new computer should be able to handle it nicely. Then I'll finally update the Youtube account! Ahhh!

I got my deathchicken6 account back on XBox Live, after a month banning yet again, like last August. Apparently some people can't take a joke if I make fun of them, or talk a bit of trash. They have to get all bitchy, and complain to the guys that made the game, until I get a suspension. Fuckin' damn all !

To entertain people, here's the latest shots of me going head to head against Ben:

Yeah, he's holding a toothpick, against my knife. What a clever boy. Here's a more realistic shot:

Shit, now it's really on. Hear that? It's on, Ben! I'll get him one day, don't worry.

I've been playing a lot of Halo these days, slowly building up anticipation for Halo 3. It's coming! I'll have to buy an XBox 360 one day, whenever I get the money together. Matt Noel has been hounding me for it, so I don't know. I still like my Wii a whole lot! Fuckin' Elebits, fuck yeah!

I don't have much else, so here's the crappy photoshop job:

Kitttty doesn't want the snowball, he wants his food!
