fucking fuck!
A little over four hundred dollars later, and my computer is finally back up and running. Fuck me sideways, it sucked to not have it. Early last week I hit Future Shop and got Schaap to hook me up with a sound card for my computer, to finally get my surround sound speakers to work. Got it real cheap, went home, put that beeyotch in, and then suddenly everything was fried. Turns out the power supply or something overheated with the new hardware, and pretty much trashed the motherboard, video card, power supply, and so on.
Anyways, I thought since the computer stil turned on, but the monitor kept flashing "no signal," I thought that was the trouble, so I went and got a new one, with the same result. Then I figured maybe the video card, so I got one of them for a hundred dollars or something ridiculous. That bitch didn't help, so I finally gave up and brought it to Mike's Computers. All the shit that was fried had to be replaced, so I got a bunch of new shit, and it's the equivalent of a new computer. A bit cheaper than gettting all the parts or getting a new one built, but still, four hundred dollars was the price tag to get it all installed properly.
Luckily I had most of my important shit backed up to my second hard drive, so I dind't lose anything important (pictures, videos, stories, received files...). Still, it was a fucking hassle. Reinstalled Windows on the new hardware, and now it runs almost perfectly. Only trouble is the DVD burner doesn't seem to read store-bought DVD's yet, so hopefully a tech-minded friend can help give me any suggestions. I'm looking at you, Bryce or possibly Bran.
Speaking of which, Bran is back on his little adventure. I saw that bitch once in the three or four weeks he was here, the first night he got back, and then he never got around to coming out for any drunken times! Damn all. Now he's gone for five months or something... get a real job, Bran! And give me your cat!
The hassle of having no computer was that I couldn't play music around here, and most people know that I can't stand it when I'm awake and have no music playing. It's the only thing to keep me from freaking out! Ahhh! When I freak out, I end up looking like this all the time:
My hair turns orange and I keep that face on, until the music starts again. Anyway, the point is things work better and smoother than before, and I am a happy kritter once more. Still haven't tested out the capturing properties of this new bitch, but when I do, I"ll finally be able to post the New Year's videos! And the following week's gathering videos! Including when Ben made a hilariously drunken offensive statement to one of Manj's friends. Silly Ben.
Okay, that's it for now, I'm gonna go play Splinter Cell and be pissed off at magicians. Sneaky bastards... and here's the shitty photoshop of the week.
